Having just gotten to the challenge missions for each of the factions, I figured I'd try Zos Shivros Channel for fun. Didn't work well, but meh.

Then I see the reward is almost negligable. Check the records, and there are 3 scores over 10,000! (and almost nothing else close). How did that happen? Is there even a point in playing this mission till those 3 scores clear?

Quite simply put, people exploiting the glitches there that Anet never fixed since day one.

Which glitches would those be? (Not that I'd exploit them or anything)

Is the other Luxon one like that too?

The other luxon may be worst... While exploring I managed to have all of the priests follow me because of my mm. So I could have just gone AFK and the shrines would have been mine for a very long time because the monsters couldn't cap them anymore....

The glitches were fixed, after you kill the 6th wave every other wave after just has 6 Siege Turtles. They go on forever depending on how high you want to get your score at:

We obviously could've gotten a lot higher but we just wanted to get 10k. Remember that the scores are clearly daily, monthly, and every four months depending on the category.

Yeah, the problem is that rewards are calculated on the quarterly results (which is 3 months, not 4). A guildie of mine and I got the #3 score there today, and only got 11 faction points out of it (and 5 XP and 2 good, woot!)

They probably should increase the number of Siege Turtles with every wave to prevent the infinite scoring. Eventually you'll get overwhelmed.

I mean, I'm all for getting high scores and such, but you have to let it be somewhat competitive and give an incentive for players who try.

Ractoth didn't get that score from exploiting though. You could hypothetically do the same or better.
